Seizing the Moment with Nathan Moreau Photography

By Marina Jokic

We love capturing meaningful moments on photographs. From a baby's first steps to a wedding ceremony, the range of emotions and memories is vast. Nathan Moreau Photography in Manchester, New Hampshire specializes in wedding photography, but also offers destination and small event packages. Owner Nathan Moreau aspired to be a professional photographer from an early age. He talks about the scope of his business, and what attracted him to photography in the first place.

What better way to commemorate an important moment in your life than with a photo? Photography is such a prevalent part of our lives that it has seamlessly blended into our everyday routines. One way to differentiate particularly special occasions is to have them photographed by a true professional. At Nathan Moreau Photography, the needs of the customer come first paired with the most meticulous attention to detail.

Moreau's expertise lies in wedding photography while also expanding into the domain of other events and milestones. Many of his customers choose to continue their relationship with his company and opt for the "client for life" program, which offers a photo session each year to document a family or couple's life over time. "Our clients love this program because it's a great way to capture those special moments as they start their lives together and grow their families," Moreau says.

Planning a wedding can be especially stressful and time-consuming with very little time to pay attention to the details. One critical component of a wedding day is, of course, the photography. No one wants to have second-rate photos of one of the most significant days of their lives. Nathan Moreau Photography really takes the time to get to know each of their clients, to discover their style and the emotions they are seeking to convey to the camera. Being unobtrusive and putting their clients at ease is essential to creating a genuine photo, which is what people actually want.

There really is no hard and fast rule for how to take the best photo, Moreau says. But one valuable rule of thumb is making your client feel comfortable in front of the camera. If a person can act naturally and even forget that he or she is being photographed, that's the true mark of a good photographer, Moreau says. That is what separates Nathan Moreau Photography from its competition. "We are true experts at capturing real moments, our goal is to capture life's special moments without remembering a camera lens being in your face," he adds.

Moreau's muse was his high school photography art class at Campbell High School in Litchfield, New Hampshire with Mrs. Freeman, who incidentally still teaches the class today. "She'd give us a subject to capture every week and we'd come into class, develop our own black and white film and prints in a darkroom," Moreau explains. "After a few times going through this process, I was hooked, and went on to Massachusetts College of Art and Design to study photography," he remarks. His love for photography has only grown since.
