Professional Advice on Your Kitchen Remodeling Project: An Interview with Trudy Boisvert of Fixtures Etc

By Trudy Boisvert

Tell us a little bit about your company and its foundation.

We are a small family business that started in 2002. We used to own a granite countertop company. Now we still do granite along with sinks, faucets, showers, bathtubs, bathroom cabinets, mirrors, medicine cabinets, lighting, bathroom accessories, cabinet hardware, toilets, ventilation fans, and almost anything you can think of for your kitchen and bathroom.

What is the first thing you tell people who are looking to remodel their kitchen?

"I would love to show you my favorite sink!"

When looking at a kitchen for a remodel, what factors do you take into consideration first?

We don't do kitchen cabinets but we do everything else: the granite, sinks, faucets, cabinet knobs and pulls, garbage disposers, air switches, etc.

What are the most popular areas that are considered a waste of space in the kitchen?

Under the kitchen cabinet, above the refrigerator and microwave but we have some pull out and pull down solutions!

What are your personal favorite design elements in a kitchen?

The kitchen sink is my favorite item and so is the faucet as we use those items everyday!

What is your best professional advice for homeowners who are looking to remodel their kitchen?

Take your time and don't settle for anything. You are only doing this once!

What's the best way for people to get in contact with you or your company?

You can look at our websites at www.FixturesEtc.com and www.KitchensNBath.com , come into our showroom we are open Tuesday through Saturday. Or feel free to call 603-893-6777 or email: info@FixturesEtc.com.
