COTTON Restaurant: Farm-to-Table Comfort Food in Manchester

"Cotton, like your favorite pair of jeans, is just plain comfortable," says COTTON Restaurant owner Jeffrey Paige. The award-winning restaurant, located in the historic millyard district of Manchester, NH, combines high-quality, farm-to-table food with an informal dining atmosphere that has won praise both locally and regionally.

COTTON has been named "One of the Top 10 Neighborhood Restaurants in the Northeast" by Bon Appetite and won numerous other awards as well. Paige and his wife Peaches attribute the success of their restaurant to two concepts: neighborhood and consistency.

"We wanted a restaurant where our customers can be as comfortable in suits as in t-shirts and be able to enjoy good-quality food prepared well," says Paige. "It's a place you can feel comfortable hosting a business lunch and returning to for dinner with your spouse or to celebrate a special occasion." COTTON serves American comfort food made with farm-to-table, high-quality ingredients in a casual, inviting atmosphere.

Serving both lunch and dinner, COTTON features popular menu items such as Retro Meatloaf with Port Wine Mushroom Sauce, All You Can Eat Mashed Potatoes, and Buttermilk Herb Fried Chicken. The menu also includes award-winning crab cakes and soups, more than 40 wine options, and the "Best Martinis in New Hampshire," according to several area polls. COTTON derives its name from the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company's cotton mills in Manchester- which were the largest textile mills in the world throughout the 19th Century. Since the decline of the mills, restaurants, businesses, art galleries, and other businesses have opened in some of the historic buildings that have been preserved.

Before opening the restaurant, Paige served as the Executive Chef at Canterbury Shaker Village for 12 years. During that time he founded New Hampshire's first Farm to Restaurant Connection. Paige and his wife Peaches actively support local efforts to feed people in need through partnerships with the Salvation Army's Kids Café and the New Hampshire Food Bank.
