For people who want to eat well-cooked, healthy food but don't have the time to cook, Caroline's Fine Food offers many delicious choices from an ever-changing menu of delightful dishes. Chef and owner Caroline Arend said that her company takes pride in making high-quality food by hand every day.
"We specialize in freshly prepared food made by hand daily," Arend said. "We usually offer at least one chicken, one fish, and one beef dish, and you can often find other offerings such as lamb and duck. We also offer many sides, always using seasonal ingredients from herbed quinoa or farro to roasted brussels sprouts and carrot confit."
Caroline's also offers full service catering, for events like weddings, small charity events, and corporate functions. There are several different menus, for corporate events, take outs and and the case menus. The purpose of the case menu is to bring families together at the table.
"We want our neighbors to know they have an alternative to fast food or pizza for those busy nights when cooking simply isn't an option," Arend said. "They can call us and have a freshly prepared meal put together for their families that they can simply reheat and enjoy at the table together."
The weekly case menu lists the foods that are available all day at the location on Route 101 in Bedford. A typical week's case menu might includes eggplant & lamb al forno, chicken quesadilla with smoked Gouda & caramelized onions, pan-seared chicken stuffed w/ sun-dried tomatoes & goat cheese, and pan-seared salmon with Romesco.
The vegetable sides are carefully seasoned and cooked just right. Everything from roasted cauliflower and beets to sweet potatoes and sauteed asparagus is done just right every time. There are also healthy delicious sandwiches, ideal for a working lunch. Most ingredients are locally sourced and the constantly varying menu allows for the use of seasonal fresh foods.
The variety also prevents boredom, the nemesis of domestic cooking. One thing that sets Caroline's apart from other catering services is the sheer variety of their offerings.
"I can think of no other establishment that offers new things on their menu every day," Arend said. "This allows us to be creative, using what looks best in the market, what's fresh and seasonal. As Caterers, we are also very custom- we design each event to specifically suit the taste and budget of each client, from simple to extraordinary."
