Amy K Massage Treats All Clients with Customized Sessions

By Kelly Church

Amy K Massage is a Pelham, NH massage studio that customizes sessions to each client's needs. Owner Amy Kline is a Licensed Massage Therapist and works under the philosophy that no client gets the same treatment at Amy K Massage. Kline works alongside Amanda Graham, another Licensed Massage Therapist.

"Not one client [Graham or I see] receives the same massage as another, or furthermore each session," Kline said. "We are always making small or big (if necessary) changes to the treatment to focus on areas of concern."

The two therapists offer therapeutic massage, cupping, relaxation massages, transitional massage similar to Swedish massage, prenatal and infant massage, and sessions where Kline and Graham work together as a mirror image of one another. With every new client, Kline and Graham get a detailed overview of their health which gives them a clear understanding of potential treatment paths.

"The first and most important step that we take is to do a client health history pertaining to areas of concern for the client," Kline said. "We then discuss with the client what is bothering them, how it affects them and when. With all that information, we then put together a plan of action to help correct the chronic issues with professional therapeutic massage."

Kline said that massage can improve circulation and blood flow to areas of the body, which can encourage healing and reparative processes. In fact, she said massage increases the flow of oxytocin, a natural hormone in the body that encourages muscles to relax. Additionally, massage helps clients relax, reducing stress and improving overall health.

"Stress does a number on the body, including but not limited to fatigue, headache, increased heart rate, anxiety [and] increased blood pressure," Kline said. "Massage can help someone unwind and relax."
